Sudden Infant Death Syndrom

Are you familiar with SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and it’s root cause?

Although the real root cause was not identified, a few factors have been defined which are increasing risks of SIDS:

  • Lack of prenatal care, prematurity and low birth weight.
  • Smoking during pregnancy.
  • Sleeping in prone position.
  • Sleeping on the soft surface with pillows, blankets, etc. These are causing danger for child to get trapped or cover his head what can lead to suffocation.
  • Co-sleeping/ surface sharing with the baby.
  • Cigarette smoking, drugs, alcohol usage by parents – increase SIDS risk further. Especially when sharing sleeping surface (bed).
  • smoking at home, at the same room where kid sleeps – double risks of SIDS.
  • Baby overheating – too many layers and blankets.

During our journey together, the most important topic is safety. All the safety guidelines will be provided to you as a first thing.
